From the snow-capped mountain peaks to babbling brooks and thick evergreen forests, the wild Wyoming landscape is a call to adventure. Nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy some of the country’s most amazing National Parks, while socialites enjoy the nightlife in Jackson Hole and keep an eye out for your favorite stars. It’s no wonder why famous celebs such as Harrison Ford, Sandra Bullock, and Brad Pitt, have homes in “The Cowboy State”.

Stay:

If you are looking to reconnect with nature, Wyoming’s Curt Gowdy State Park and Buffalo Bill State Park offer secluded, serene, and eccentric accommodation such as yurts, cabins, and treehouses!. For a breathtaking view of the Bighorn Mountains, check out the cozy cabins at the High Country Lodge. In the heart of Yellowstone, The Old Faithful Inn puts all other log cabins to shame, it is considered the largest log structure in the world! Situated a stone’s throw from the infamous Old Faithful geyser, you will be in the midst of the excitement and surrounded by history. If you’re looking for something a little more romantic, try Amangani in the foothills of the Grand Tetons. The resort offers luxurious suites with stunning views of the Snake River Valley.

Eat:

While in Wyoming, be sure to taste some of the local specialties such as elk steak and bison burger from the locally sourced game.  Cassie’s Supper Club is a great stop on the way to or from Yellowstone which boasts the “Best prime rib in the west”. One word of caution: although there are many local cuisines on the list, the “rocky mountain oysters” are not for the faint of heart! For an elegant evening out in Jackson Hole, stop for dinner and drinks at the Four Seasons and admire the panoramic view of the Tetons and Rendezvous Peak from the Westbank Grill. In the morning, stop by  Persephone in Jackson for breakfast and pick up some picnic supplies for a long day on the trails!

See:

Although there are many state parks and wildlife areas; a trip to Wyoming just wouldn’t be complete without visiting Yellowstone National Park and Grand Tetons National Park. Bring your binoculars and camera to get a good look at the elk, buffalo, bears, and other incredible wildlife roaming throughout the two immense parks. Don’t forget your hiking boots, even if you only plan to see the park in a day you’ll want to get out of the car to stretch your legs on some of the country’s most beautiful hiking trails. Across the state, bordering South Dakota you will find the Devil’s Tower. This must-see site is the historical first national monument and world-famous destination for ambitious rock climbers.

Do:

Wyoming is the place to be for outdoor adventures – from hiking and biking to white water rafting and fly fishing – there are endless possibilities to keep you active. Hop on a Hidden Treasures Charter to enjoy a tour of the infamous Horseshoe Bend through the Bighorn Canyon, or rent your own boat and spend an afternoon cruising along the river. In Jackson Hole, you can hike or bike the trails all day long. If your feet are sore just thinking bout it, take a ride up the gondola to the summit to get the best view of the impressive Wyoming countryside. Adventurous types will be tempted to try out unique activities like paragliding and via Ferrata while you’re there! After a long day filled with action-packed activities, relax in a rejuvenating natural pool at the Granite Hot Springs Pool

Save:

If you’re trying to stay on a budget, follow these tips to save money on your Wyoming holiday. Although Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Parks are a must-see, admission can be expensive. Try to go on one of the national free days, when the entrance fee to all of the National Parks is absolutely free. Before you go, pack a picnic lunch – meals in the parks’ restaurants can quickly add up and there are plenty of beautiful places to stop and enjoy an ‘al fresco’ meal with an incredible view. Of course, Wyoming is full of free and beautiful places to hike and picnic outside of the parks such as the Badlands Scenic Overlook Trail, Castle Gardens, and periodic springs. For a free soak, head over to the “Hobo Hot Pool” in Saratoga.
