As the world is pushing for a post-pandemic way of life more and more countries are loosening their Covid-19 restrictions. Some countries have gone as far as to remove Covid restrictions altogether. Every week we are hearing about additional countries that are ditching mask mandates, Covid testing, and quarantine requirements. Bonaire now joins the ever-growing list and becomes the 32nd country to scrap entry rules.
Bonaire has ditched all of its travel requirements.
The latest addition to the list of countries without any travel restrictions or entry requirements is Bonaire, an island in the Caribbean sea. Bonaire is part of the ABC islands (Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao) which now all have their Covid restrictions dropped completely. Bonaire was the last island in the ABC chain that still had entry requirements.
Aruba became the 16th country in the world to drop all entry rules on March 19th, while Curaçao beat them to it on March 10th.
Traveling between the ABC islands now is as easy as in pre-pandemic times.
From April 20, 2022, onward anyone may travel to Bonaire without the requirements for a negative COVID-19 test result, vaccination certificate, or recovery certificate.
A health declaration form is still needed
All travelers will still need to fill out a health declaration form between 24 and 12 hours before departure. The health declaration must be completed by all travelers.

When filling out the form be sure to input your airline, flight number, as well as arrival and departure date.
Once you submit all your personal information, you will be required to digitally sign the form and send it to Bonaire officials.
Travelers entering Bonaire can now do so without:
- No covid tests before, on arrival or after arrival
- No quarantine requirements
- No proof of vaccination
- No countries are banned
Travelers are still required to follow local and municipal laws that may require them to wear facial masks in certain locations. Nonetheless, travelers are anticipated to be able to enjoy Bonaire in a pre-pandemic fashion.

Planning a trip between the ‘ABC’ islands?
You can easily fly between Bonaire, Aruba, and Curaçao on Divi Divi Air, as well as EZ Air. These are two small regional airlines that are best for travel between the islands. Currently, there are no active ferry operations.
Be prepared to pay a tourist tax if traveling after July 1.
Bonaire is planning to implement a new entry tourist tax that is set to go into effect after July 1. This tax will be set at $75-per-visit for any non-residents who are 13 years old or older.
Travelers will be able to pay this tax prior to arrival via an online portal, as well as the option to pay once they arrive in Bonaire.
This tax is meant to replace the current room and rental car tax that travelers are subject to, and streamline the entire process with one single tax.
Overall this is great news for everyone who’s itching to travel but doesn’t want to go through all the hassle most other countries are making its visitors face.
Traveling is confusing as it is, the last thing people want to deal with is ever-changing Covid restrictions and having the need to fill out extensive quarantine forms.
Now travelers have one additional option to visit if other requirements are too much for them.

Bonaire is not a country. It is part a Special Municipality within the country of the Netherlands.
