Travelers are always looking for their next place to go and United Airlines just made that decision easier.

With the announcement of new flights to 4 exciting Asian destinations, U.S. travelers can stick with one of their favorite airlines for an awesome cultural trip abroad.

United has been busy this year adding new routes all over the world. In fact, the mega-popular airline will be offering long-haul flights to 15 destinations across the Pacific this winter season.

Their last major announcement was one for the record books as the largest South Pacific expansion in the history of aviation.

But United wasn’t done by adding cool spots like Australia and New Zealand. One of their new routes to Asia is the first of its kind too.

United’s New Historic Route To The Philippines

The Philippines is an amazing place to visit with crystal blue waters, gorgeous islands and a beautiful culture throughout the country.

For American travelers who want to go, they would have to take a foreign carrier, such as Philippine Airlines.

With the recent news from United, that’s no longer the case. United will fly direct from San Francisco to the capital city of Manila beginning October 29, 2023.

This exciting new route makes it the first U.S. carrier to fly directly to Manila from the mainland USA. The new flight will take to the skies daily on a top-notch Boeing 777-300ER, the largest of United’s fleet.

Once it launches, it will be the only U.S. airline that flies to the Philippines nonstop from America. As of now, there is no other news of other cities in line to fly nonstop to Manila.

However, San Francisco is easy to reach, making it a reasonable connection. Otherwise, the only other way to reach Manila via United is from Guam or Palau.

More Flights To Asia From Los Angeles

United just can’t be stopped from adding awesome places to visit this year! A direct flight to the Philippines would have been cool enough, but they are adding 3 more destinations nearby as well.

The first being the bustling city of Hong Kong. Just like the new Manila route, United is the only U.S. carrier to offer nonstop service to Hong Kong.

Flights from San Francisco already exist but there are no new additions. The new flights being added will be from another major California city.

Beginning October 28, 2023, the airline will increase service from Los Angeles to Hong Kong.

Daily flights will be offered on a modern Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. In total, United will offer 3 combined flights to Hong Kong from both LA and San Francisco.

Another major Asian destination seeing more flights from the U.S. is Tokyo. Also, beginning on October 28, 2023, another flight from Los Angeles will be taking off to Japan’s immaculate capital.

This service will be offered daily on a luxe 787-10 Dreamliner. Not to be confused with United’s existing service to Tokyo, the new flights will go to their other major airport.

United currently flies to Tokyo/Haneda (HND) from LA. This route will carry on, but the new flight will go to Tokyo/Narita (NRT) offering travelers the option to choose which airport is more convenient for them.

Increased Service To Taipei

While technically not a new route since United already flies to Taipei, they are proud to announce a new service to the shining star of Taiwan.

Beginning October 29, 2023, United will add another flight to the only U.S. city offering nonstop service to Taipei.

San Francisco will now be home to two flights per day on a Boeing 777-200ER aircraft.

All of the new Asia routes are on sale on United’s official website and app.

United’s 15 Long-Haul Pacific Destinations
